Fun, open ended 13 week course ending in an immersive participatory exhibition. Starting Jan

All are welcome! Non-artists especially are encouraged to participate :)

Imagine sort of like an artist residency but rather than creating on your own the whole time, you're creating with friends or friends-to-be?

We will come together through semi-structured games, workshop sessions and shared meals, to plan, create and present artistic works.

Sessions go from 10am-6pm saturday each week. We will also have group chats and the studio will be open throughout the week for groups to do self-directed work.

The program is pay what you can, we're asking for between $5-$15pp a week to help cover food. We're planning to provide lunch & snacks each week and have a budget to pay for some tools and materials.

The program is supported by Rewind's existing tool library and we will have skilled people on hand to assist in skill sharing for them.

The program

We don't want to give too much away, but here's a very basic overview of the program :)

Weeks 1-4 are introductory, ideating and planning weeks, getting to know one another and doing basic material/process research. We'll have games and workshops to forge relationships and stimulate skill/idea sharing.

Weeks 5-8 are building, taking the plans and ideas and trying to make them real. We'll have regular inter-group show and tells and smaller workshops to keep you fresh and thinking in new ways!

Weeks 9, 11 and 12 of the program are public exhibition of our works, on saturday afternoon and eve! This will hopefully be what pays off the cost of tools and materials, and funds future iterations of the program!

Week 10 is a rest week, just a fun time to celebrate all the work everyone has done!

Week 13, is a review week, this one is super important because it goes over; the future of the program, finishes our outcome statements, take on feedback for the program, and give you the opportunity to assist in running the next one!
